Dr. Daniel Jackson (James Spader), a scholar of ancient hieroglyphics, signs on to help the Air Force (led by Kurt Russell) unlock the mystery of a stone archway that's really a portal to another universe. There, they encounter a culture of friendly primitives and some not-so-nice dog-headed beasties armed with lasers.
This costume part was custom-made by the production for use by various actors as the "Egyptian God Horus". Horus is one of Ra's guards that has a man's body and a falcon's head. The costume part is one of the gauntlets, shaped like a serpent coiled around the wrist and made of what appears to be polyfoam. Polyfoam is a very strong lightweight material that does not degrade over time. It has been painted bronze and silver to simulate weathered metal. It has suggestive engravings throrough its surface.
This piece does show signs of use with minor paint chipping and a few small cracks, but overall does not take away from this impressive piece. Items of this caliber rarely surface from this sci-fi classic, and this is one of the icon pieces from the film that would make an incredible addition to any collection. Minor wear from use is present.
