A set of production made metal emblems made for Maximus' Horse Chest Armour in the 2000 Ridley Scott epic movie Gladiator. The former Roman General can be seen wearing his memorable armour featuring his horses Argento and Scarto, two Griffins and other ornate decorative emblems throughout his career as a Gladiator, the set is gradually added to, to feature his family as the story progresses. This particular set features a swirling vine and the upper-segment of the spread leaf featured on the shoulder guard.
All the decoration was interchangeable, both in metal and rubber (for high action shots), and these spare components were created in case of a replacement being required after an accident, indeed one woman embraces him so enthusiastically when they first become a sensation in Rome she bends the wings of one Griffin right out. Each segment has several split-pin anchor points and are a rich silver colour and ready to be modified or distressed if required, so these remain in excellent condition.
